Hey friends,
The Story Kit theme for October/November, over at Ali Edwards Design Inc. is Cozy, and it’s completely perfect for this time of year. Bring on all the furry blankets and and cozy hoodies! Today I’m sharing my project using the Digital Story Kit. The digital kits are included with a subscription to the Story Class, or if you are a subscriber to the physical Story Kit or Story Stamp, you can purchase the digital kit as an Add-On at a reduced price. As a hybrid scrapbooker, I’m ALWAYS thankful to have access to the digital products in addition to the physical kits and embellishments.
One of the things I value about having a theme to work with every month is that it encourages me to tell stories I might not otherwise think to include in my scrapbooking. Stories about everyday things, but with a specific perspective. And sometimes just having that theme in the back of my mind prompts me to take photos I would have otherwise missed.

This kit is SO PRETTY!! Really love the warm colours and floral patterns. I used the digital kit to make a 2 page 6×8 spread that includes 4 – 3″ x 4″ pockets and a full page 6.75″ x 8.25″ photo.

Snuggling on the couch with my daughter is such a normal, everyday kind of thing around here, and I love that I’ve got this photo in my album. When I’m working with big photos, I’m often inclined NOT to add a whole lot extra to them. Here I printed a few of the chipboard elements and adhered them to the photo with dimensional foam adhesive. I punched holes directly in the photo to add it to my album as opposed to slipping it into a page protector. I really love this combination of pockets with elements outside of the page protector.

I experimented a bit with a Heidi Swapp glue pen + gold foil + Minc machine to highlight a few of those floral details, printed on a 3×4 piece of vellum. I do like the way it adds a little bit of sparkle, and I could use more practice. In our family, home is definitely where the cozy happens, and we ALL love “chill” days, whether we’re hanging out together or spending time doing our own things. Writing about this particular chill day, and snuggling with Emily (and Jake, our pupster).

I also took the opportunity to jot down my “cozy essentials” right now. I took a photo of my favourites all stacked up. The flag stitched on top of the photo reminded me of a clothing tag and I thought that was a fun detail. It’s actually from a 4×6 journaling card in the kit that I cropped and shrunk down to create this embellishment.
I filmed a quick process video of this spread coming together:
The Cozy Kit is available until 11:59 am ET November 13th.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I’ve got a few more fall stories I want to get in my album and then I’ve got some SERIOUS catch up to do on my 2019 December Daily Album to be #donebydecember (just 19 days left, yikes!!)
Love it so much! I think, I have more stories to tell this month than ever before, because home = cozy for us, and with quarantine, we have to stay home a lot. Love those hints of gold here and there! Can you, please, tell me, did you use vellum to print cards and, if I am right, what kind of vellum was it?
